Clandon park, West Clandon

Clandon was built c1731 for the 2nd Lord Onslow by the Venetian architect, Giacomo Leoni. The house has magnificent rooms including the two-storied Marble Hall, an example of one of the grandest of all 18th-century interiors, with chimney pieces by Rysbrack.
Today, Clandon houses the famous Gubbay collection of furniture, carpets, porcelain and needlework, together with the Mortlake Tapestries, many Onslow family paintings and the Ivo Forde Meissen collection of Italian comedy figures.
The Queen's Royal Surrey Regiment Museum is situated in the basement
